The Camden New Town Community Festival is a beloved annual event in Camden, thanks to a dedicated group of local volunteers. Featuring music, performances and stalls from local groups, it has become a much-anticipated summer fixture.
NLCF funding supported the festival's growing Green Corner, where stallholders shared tips with locals on living more sustainably. For example, the Dr Bike stall empowered riders with repair skills, while sewing advice helped residents learn how to mend clothes instead of throwing them away. To help embed this knowledge, the festival organisers ran 12 follow-up workshops on sewing repair skills in the weeks after the event.
Over 2,000 Camden residents attended the festival, with many popping in to the Green Corner - over 500 partook in the workshops held over the festival weekend, and a further 93 joined the sewing repair classes.
