Hackney City Farm offer children and grown-ups the opportunity to get up close to a range of farmyard animals. See, smell and plant vegetables and other food plants. Learn new skills to live a healthier, happier life with a lower environmental impact.

This year, Hackney City Farm were awarded funding to further their project 'Get Loose'. Their ultimate aim this funding year was to become self-funding in their waste reduction activities at the zero-waste shop.

They were able to hire 2 full-time employees through a government Kickstart Scheme which helps young people out of unemployment meaning they were able to double their opening hours to further fund their waste prevention programmes. As a result, the more senior staff were able to focus their efforts on the waste prevention information scheme and writing blog pieces for socials.
