Volunteer fixer at a repair club

Forest Fixers: Open Repair Club at The Mill 28/11/24

The Mill, 7-11 Coppermill Lane, London E17 7HA

6:30pm-9:30pm

Who are Forest Fixers?

The North London Community Fund have awarded Forest Fixers grant money to run repair clubs and cafes to prevent the unnecessary waste of small household electricals. Their repair clubs are skills sharing events so that residents can learn how to fix their electricals. The cafes are drop-ins for residents to come along and have their items fixed for them.

What is the event?

This is for people who want to do safe, simple repairs to their appliances at home.  It is the first session of a series of three.  The other two will be held in January and February.

This week, we will be looking at:

  • Changing a fuse: which one should I use?
  • How to spot a dodgy plug or adaptor
  • Checking a flex
  • Changing a plug
  • What should I consider when my appliance needs a new charger?

You will get plenty of hands-on experience with people there to help you.  We provide tools unless you wish to bring your own.
