Join footwear designer and maker Hernan Guardamagna in this playful workshop to design and ‘build’ a sneaker utilising recycled found materials.
Participants will be guided to create artwork in the shape of a sneaker using diverse materials such as cardboard, plastics, food packaging, fabrics and anything interesting found in a recycling bin. Materials and tools will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own!! The goal of the workshop is to raise awareness about the importance of recycling, repurposing and upcycling, so any discarded material will be more than welcome.
Hernan will share the patterns needed to create the sneaker, which you will be able to customise by selecting your favourite materials. You will be guided on how to use different construction methods to build the shoe.
The workshop will last 3 hours.
