Repair, Restore, Reuse is part of a series of workshops organised by Hive Curates that offer the local community an appreciation of practical making skills and reduce waste through recycling and up-cycling rather than throwing away.
The workshops will be practical and fun, making use of our well-equipped yard workshop. The workshops will be led by Huren Marsh, a designer who originally trained as a furniture and product designer and has had over twenty years experience of working in architectural and design practices, as well fifteen years as a university lecturer in design.
Huren Marsh has a degree in furniture and product design and combined practice in interior architecture & design as well as teaching the subject for over thirty years. He has a chair in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Design 1900 - Now gallery.
If you'd like to get involved book your place and send us an email telling us in 50 words why you want to repair/restore/reuse the object along with at least two photographs. We will then ensure we can assist in helping you restore your item. It could be an old chair, a jewellery box or an old frame that has broken.
Workshops are available on different dates. Select the date you'd like to attend. All workshops are subsidised and made possible by the North London Waste Authority Community Fund. If you'd like to pay a small amount. This will go to the continuation of the programme.
