London Community Resource Network

The London Community Resource Network (LCRN) works to help Londoners use resources more sustainably to maximise community and environmental benefit. 

LCRN received funding to promote sustainable fashion and reuse through a large event ‘festival’ during the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) and promote alternatives to ‘fast fashion’ through online and social media outreach. 

The event took place on the 24th of November 2019 during which 6 organisations took part, 450 attendees and an estimated 600kg of materials were re-used and recycled. 

During the event 707 new contacts were made and the LCRN mailchimp ‘sustainable fashion’ list increased to 779 subscribers. Online surveys attracted 124 responses and indicated that participants intend to use less ‘fast fashion’ and make clothing re-use a regular part of their lifestyle.
