Hubbub is an award-winning environmental charity that’s all about inspiring action that’s good for the environment and for everyone. They bring businesses, organisations, local authorities and community groups together to create campaigns that make it easier and more possible for everyone to make choices that are good for the environment.

Working with university students across north London, Hubbub's project 'Bright Friday' aimed to raise awareness for textiles waste and its prevention. 'Bright Friday' came from the growing unease amongst the students about the values Black Friday represents and overconsumption it encourages.

They ran 3 large-scale clothes swaps at Middlesex University, University College London and London Metropolitan University. Alongside the swaps they had workshops where the students were taught basic sewing skills, repair and hacks to emulate latest fashion trends without the need to go to the Black Friday high street sales. The events celebrated making something new from something old, learning new skills and meeting new people rather than spending money at the Black Friday sales.
