Bread n Butter

Bread n Butter are food educators teaching cookery life-skills whilst addressing health and social inequalities and barriers to healthy living.

Bread n Butter was funded to deliver an innovative sustainability workshop named ‘Waste Warriors’ in 10 schools in Barnet and Enfield. 

The aim of the project was to help children and their families understand how they could live more sustainably and save money by wasting less food and by increasing recycling and reuse of certain materials, in particular plastic. The project delivered 20 programmes, which involved 100 sessions across the 10 primary schools they worked with. Community venues in Barnet and Enfield also piloted four community fridges, which alongside workshops, allowed families of school children to share food and understand food waste prevention better.
