MerIT offers free electrical repairs for the community, preventing items from going to waste and upskilling volunteers.
With NLCF support MerIT was able to complete over 100 repairs in 2023, and build partnerships with local colleges and the corporate sector. 16 volunteers were supported to learn electrical repair skills, with two going on to employment thanks to their experience with the project.
MerIT has now been able to secure three years of funding from Islington Council, so the organisation can keep supporting volunteers and preventing unnecessary electricals waste.
