We write further to our acknowledgement of your request made under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (reference 2024-228) and apologise for the delay in responding.

The information you requested was:

1 The total capasity for all vehicles daily at the site .

2 Then can you break that  down to how many of them are allowed for vans.

3  In the last 180 day how many times has the van allocation been full book.

Our responses are as follows, using your numbering:

  1. We do not hold information on the total daily capacity for vehicles at the site. However, it is only possible for 9-10 vehicles to be physically on-site and offloading waste at any one time.
  2. There are 10 slots available each day for van bookings. This is because where vans are larger than cars, they can cause traffic to back up as they manoeuvre around the site. Limiting the number of vans allowed on-site during the day gives time for the traffic flows to recover.
  3. Between 14 September and 12 March (the day that you made your request), there were 116 days where all 10 slots for vans were booked.

The reuse and recycling centres are managed by LondonEnergy Ltd, whose staff have discretion to book in additional vans where this will not cause disruption. If you are having difficulty with the booking system, you can contact LondonEnergy Ltd at enquiries@londonenergyltd.com and they will endeavour to assist you.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you may ask for an internal review, which should be submitted within two months of when you received our response to either informationrequests@nlwa.gov.uk or our enquiry form quoting the above reference.

If you are not content with the outcome of the review, you may complain to the Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, or via their online portal. The Information Commissioner will not usually accept complaints before a review has been completed.
