Our contract with ERP UK Limited for collection and treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) will expire on 31 May 2027. The contract terms allow the Authority to extend the contract period for up to two years.

The amount of WEEE treated in the 2023/24 financial year was 2,832 tonnes.

Details of our producer compliance scheme are as follows:

  • Collection of five WEEE streams from all registered Designated Collection Facilities (DCF’s), including waste transfer stations and borough depots.
  • Two additional services: provision of a new fleet of 70 Small WEEE Bring Banks (SDA), including servicing and maintenance. 38 banks are still in service and need to be replaced due to age.
  • Free of charge kerbside collections from residents of Large WEEE (LDA).
  • Income Share on revenue received from the sale of the Authorities WEEE.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you may ask for an internal review, which should be submitted within two months of when you received our response to either informationrequests@nlwa.gov.uk or enquiry form quoting the above reference.

If you are not content with the outcome of the review, you may complain to the Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, or via their online portal. The Information Commissioner will not usually accept complaints before a review has been completed.
