Request
Dear North London Waste Authority,
Have you used the furlough scheme?
If so can you tell me.
1. How many staff were furloughed per month?
2. Did you top up their salaries?
3. How many staff on more than £50K were furloughed?
Response
REF: ‘Freedom of Information request - Use of furlough’ – our reference 2021-118
Thank you for your information request which was received by us on Monday 26 April 2021. This request is being handled under the Environmental Information Regulations (EiR) 2004 and has been allocated the reference number 2021-118[1].
You asked if:
NLWA has used the furlough scheme? And if so,
1. How many staff were furloughed per month?
2. Did we top up their salaries?
3. How many staff on more than £50K were furloughed?
Although the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted operational services and the Authority’s waste prevention work during 2020-21, all staff were able to carry out a role, with adjustment for circumstances during the pandemic.
Therefore, NLWA did not use the furlough scheme.
Details of the impact of the pandemic are included in the cover report and 2019-20 Annual Report, publicly available on our website at: https://www.nlwa.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2021-06/03%20NLWA%20Annual%20Report.pdf
