Query about compost deliveries to allotment societies We are on the Committee of the Hackney Allotment Society and have a number of sites which benefit from free annual deliveries of compost from the North London Waste Authority. I cannot see on your website or on the NWLAs whether this service will be continuing next year. Can you let us know if it will be available next year and whether it will still be free? |
Response
Our current arrangements making compost available free-of-charge to north London residents and community groups will not be available from 27 October 2018. Further details about this change and why it is happening are available on our website here: http://wiseuptowaste.org.uk/news/closure-of-in-vessel-composting-ivc-fa… and there is also a set of questions and answers here: http://wiseuptowaste.org.uk/media/1584/questions-and-answers-26-07-18.p…
We do still have some bagged compost available free of charge from the north London Reuse and Recycling Centres. The bagged compost will be made available until it runs out. The sites with free compost in bags are listed here: https://www.londonenergyltd.com/community/recycling-centres/
