EcoPark House is our new educational outreach and community hub, located at Edmonton EcoPark.
This two-storey building will house a visitor centre, where the local community can learn about waste prevention and recycling, as well as a new home for the Edmonton Sea Cadets.
EcoPark House was built to encourage and enable community activity and engagement. It offers a vibrant and flexible space for north London residents and communities.
The centre will serve three key functions:
A base for the Edmonton Sea Cadets
Facing onto the River Lee Navigation, the centre is well located to provide a long-term space for the Sea Cadets. Based in Edmonton since 1943, the Sea Cadets’ mission is to celebrate Britain’s maritime heritage and support young people to develop life skills.
Site tours
EcoPark House will be the starting point for pre-arranged EcoPark tours involving an engaging walk-around of the site, bringing waste management to life.
Schools visits
The school visitor experience at EcoPark House will build on the current in-school education offer and tours already being delivered by North London Waste Authority, LondonEnergy Limited and Acciona as part of their social value commitment.
EcoPark House will cater to both primary and secondary schools in north London, offering waste prevention education sessions to primary schools and site tours and educational sessions to secondary schools.
The building of EcoPark House is complete and the facility is currently being tested. Looking to the future, plans are underway for the centre to open its doors to even more groups to make the most out of the space.
