Who are Our Home Our Planet?

The North London Community Fund awarded Our Home Our Planet a grant for their project 'Eco Show and Tell'. Working in Barnet, Eco Show and Tell create friendly, judgement-free spaces where residents can share their knowledge, with the aim of supporting behaviour change.

What is the event?

A free in-person training session offering Barnet residents access to workshop material designed to empower aspiring community leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to galvanise their communities to reduce waste.

Are you passionate about the environment and ready to fight climate change? Learn why we must reduce domestic waste, and how to do it.

The sessions are run by Environmental Community Organiser, Shiri Atsmon and Christin Radtke, a Sustainability Consultant and Coach. The topics include:

  • How is domestic waste disposed in Barnet
  • What's to be found in bins of London residents
  • What is the circular economy and the 5Rs of waste reduction
  • Why can't we rely on recycling and on waste incineration
  • The top reasons to reduce our consumption and our waste -
  • How to prioritise your waste reduction efforts
  • Ways to reduce waste in eight waste streams: Food waste, food packaging and storage, apparel, electronics, home care, personal care, parties/festivals and young families.

Join like-minded Barnet residents for a FREE session.
