Carpet

Carpet is taken to a facility in Kent where it is assessed and divided into these different types:

• Carpet made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polypropylene (PP) is taken to Innovate in Northamptonshire
• Wool-based carpet gets turned into animal bedding or insulation
• Nylon carpet is recycled, usually back into nylon
• Carpets made from a blend of different materials cannot be recycled and are disposed of at an energy from waste facility
