Vape

Vapes cannot go in your rubbish or recycling bin. Like anything with a battery, cable or plug, vapes can and should be recycled.

You can recycle vapes at:

• Shops and online sellers of vapes must provide a way for you to recycle vapes. This is law under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) (opens in a new window). Large retailers will usually provide a recycling bin - some of these are listed on Recycle Your Electricals (opens in a new window).
• Some vape manufacturers provide a free postal take-back scheme. They sometimes accept vapes made by other brands. Search online to find a suitable scheme.
• Any north London reuse and recycling centre (opens in a new window).

At the reuse and recycling centre, if the vape has an easily-detachable battery, then you should separate it out and put the battery in the lithium battery bin and the rest in the small electricals bin. If not, you can put the vape straight into the small electricals bin with the battery attached.
