Waste: The Bigger Picture - school poster competition gets underway

Oct 17, 2010
In September we rolled out the Bigger Picture school poster competition to secondary schools across the seven constituent boroughs.

The aim of the competition is to raise awareness of waste prevention among young people (secondary school year 9 -13), who have been invited to design posters with a waste prevention related message.

The educational charity EcoACTIVE delivered assemblies and workshops to the participating schools introducing different ideas around waste prevention.

The winning posters (one winner will be chosen from each borough), will be used to advertise and promote the European Week for Waste Reduction.

This is an awareness raising programme supported by the LIFE+ Programme of the European Commission, which will run across Europe from 20 - 28 November 2010.

The winning posters will be advertised on buses across the boroughs from 15 to 28 November 2010.
